At the end of 8 days of riding this was a very pleasant 70km ride through the rolling countryside of Virginia and into our last rest day before we push onto Yorktown. It wasn't flat but it also wasn't long nor too hilly and the ride had everyone in a great mood ahead of a rest in this university town. It would seem that the Appalachians may be behind us now. Morning tea was held at a little corner shop in Draper where we had an interesting conversation with the owner on everything from the confederate flag to gun laws. It provides a different perspective on the issues that would not be found in the bigger cities. Trish and Steve had a dip in the New River just outside of Radford. This was the first swim this side of the Rockies and it was refreshing.
