The 4th of July and America's 239th birthday. So what should we do? Some slept in, Ned took a few of the boys on a trip down his memory lane, others found a doctor to get antibiotics. Ned found his old home and the current owner was convinced he and his scummy mates were casing the joint. The afternoon was spent at Ellis Park seeing if we could win some money for Wheel Chairs for Kids betting on the local races. The only ones to come out with more then they started with was Andrea, Rodney and Ned. The rest of us failed miserably. But it was fun.
Then it was off to the river foreshore in Hendersen to listen to some live music (no it wasn't bluegrass) and to watch their 4th of July fireworks display. And a great display it was. Trish also caught up with Chris the local Rotary President who had helped raise over $400 for Wheel Chairs for Kids. Thanks Chris - greatly appreciated. Tomorrow we start our 8 day push over the Appalachians. Yippee.
