We picked up a couple of scots, Michael and Gordon, who are riding across the USA on a slightly different course (San Diego to New York). This route intersects ours here in Kansas. They will ride with us with a couple of days while we quiz them on tennis, cricket and Scottish independence. But tomorrow we rest before heading into Missouri.
No we didn't take a wrong turn and end up in Pittsburg Pennsylvania (Bob), this is Pittsburg, Kansas and a chance to recover after another 190km ride. Kansas was feeling magnanimous today and gave us a south westerly wind on a day when we were predominantly heading east. It made a big difference compared to our introduction to Kansas. The temperature still climbed close to 100F and the humidity is rising but a tail wind made up for all that. This will be our last ride in Kansas as the Missouri border is just 20km outside Pittsburg. We are also heading in the Osark Range and the hills are appearing again. A much better day and we gave it a 7.5 We picked up a couple of scots, Michael and Gordon, who are riding across the USA on a slightly different course (San Diego to New York). Nice tans! The team is starting (?) to look a bit weary and Wortho appears to need a good feed. Enjoy the day off and enjoy those warm conditions. It has been single digit temperatures (degC) here in Sydney riding to work and that's not much fun. No sympathy from me for your warm conditions! Lots of interest in your progress from all back here. Safe travels.
